Dedicated Dental Implant Laboratory

THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR THE DOCTOR AND THE PATIENT

We have the state of the art dental laboratory with imported European and American equipment's. Technicians are trained at centers of excellence by master technicians. Special care is taken for constant updating and training to keep up with the scientific advancement.

DEDICATED TO SDC

Scientific dental laboratory is under the same roof of scientific dental clinic dedicated only to Scientific Dental Clinic both under the flagship of SCIENTIFIC HEALTH CARE PVT LTD. It is non-commercial and does not undertake any work from any other dental clinics .We have full time dental technicians who are highly trained in implant prosthetics.

UNDER THE SAME ROOF

Most of the dental clinic sends their patient's dental work to a distant dental laboratories and the work order are communicated to technicians who has never seen the patient. There is chance of communication errors and the whole work is guess work.

Scientific Dental Lab is under the same roof of Scientific Dental Clinic

  • NO SHIPPING OF WORK BACK AND FORTH
  • HENCE COST AND TIME IS SAVED
  • DAMAGE DURING SHIPPING WILL NOT HAPPEN
  • MORE TRIALS POSSIBLE IN CASE OF DOUBT AS ALL UNDER ONE ROOF
  • TECHNICIANS AND DENTIST SEE THE PATIENT TOGATHER
  • PATIENT'S REQUIREMENTS ARE NOTED DIRECTLY BY THE TECHNITIAN
  • URGENCY OF THE WORK IS WELL UNDERSTOOD
  • PATIENT HIMSELF CAN WATCH THE WORK PROGRESSING
  • MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THE LAB ARE PURCHASED BY THE CLINIC
  • QUALITY IS MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES

WHAT FACTORS HELP THE TECHNITIAN TO DO A GOOD JOB

It is important for the technician to see the patient as the following observations are important for the outcome. The technician is an artist who makes the tooth using instruments manually from materials. From beginning to end his concept about the outcome is important for the final result. For the same reason he must see the patient and note the following.

  • Shape, color, size of adjacent teeth
  • Shape of the face
  • Smile line, visibility of gum while smiling.
  • Exposure of teeth while patient talking.
  • Color of the eyes
  • Facial midline, Dental Midline
  • Length of the lips and facial profile
  • And finally his built.

KEEPING THE DEADLINE

Having technicians and dental lab in house are hugely advantageous in executing the work keeping to deadline. Most of our patients are coming from overseas and their onward and return journey is preplanned. So it is important to complete the work in time.

QUALITY OF THE MATERIALS USED

To ensure the quality of the material used is the biggest commitment. The materials used for fabrication of artificial teeth are specified and purchased by the clinic. This is a guess in case of work if out sourced from commercial laboratory. This is again the biggest worry of patients coming from overseas.

We use only beryllium free metal
We never reuse the metal
All the work are disinfected before and after
We use only IVOCLAIRE IPS DESIGHN PORCELAIN from Switzerland OR VITA PORCELAIN from Germany

Fabrication of false teeth involves many steps .

Following are the few steps.

  • Dentist take the measurements of the teeth or implants.
  • Out of these measurements the technician makes an accurate dental cast.
  • Upper lower dental cast are articulated to mimic exactly the way patients bites his or her teeth (this single step is very important as if the bite changes the false teeth will not fit in the mouth).
  • The technician then makes a wax pattern over the dental cast in the shape of the false teeth to be made. At most precision is required at the stage. The fitting of the wax pattern is going to be reproducing of the future false teeth.
  • This wax pattern is carefully taken out of the dental cast and invested in a casting ring with a material highly refractive to heat up to 900 to 1000degree c. This investment material is technique sensitive. There are lot of cheaper versions but we only use specified by vita or ivoclaire.
  • The casting ring which contains with wax pattern invested in the invest materials it's kept in a burnout furnace for more than 3 hours at very high temperature. During this time wax pattern is completely burned out. The wax pattern is made of a special type of wax which can be burned out completely without keeping any residue .This space occupied by the wax pattern now form a die space
  • Semi-precious or precious metals which form the backbone of the crown and bridges are melted and the injected to this die space into the casting ring
  • Thus the wax pattern is reproduced to a metal coping.
  • This metal coping is retrieved from the casting ring and trimmed to fit the teeth, which are prepared to receive crown and bridges.
  • Conditioning of this metal coping is done by various procedures like sand blasting, oxidation etc. before baking porcelain on to it.
  • The ceramist then chooses a right shade of porcelain and added it on the metal layer by layer .Each time the metal and the layer of porcelain goes into the porcelain furnace at specified program recommended by porcelain manufacture even at a temperature to 950 degree c.
  • This porcelain crown is trimmed and polished &fixed it on the patient's teeth.

Any of these steps if not done properly the result will be an ill-fitting false teeth or substandard work

CHARACTERISATION

The technician after seeing the patient will reproduce white patches or enamel cracks or stains to mimic the natural look of adjacent teeth. Remember symmetry is beauty. If the contra lateral tooth has a worn out biting edge it is not natural to have the new crown with a perfect biting edge! So symmetry will be maintained for it looks real.
